python-openopt software package provides Python module for numerical optimization, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-openopt
python-openopt is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-openopt package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-openopt *
You will get with python-openopt package name, version, architecture and description in a table
